GRACIE Magazine Association is a legion of masters, athletes and entrepreneurs of the fight world, via GRACIEMag, a bilingual publication (in English and Portuguese) whose main goal is to inform and integrate the martial arts community, which, for a long time, has been fragmented across the planet. Redhouse BJJ hosts Caio Terra for World Class Seminar

Caio Terra visits AZ

The Redhouse BJJ school, located in Page, AZ, will welcome World Champion Black Belt Caio Terra for a Seminar on January 15-17th, 2010. GMA Member Brendon Barlow says that the three days of class will cover a wide range of both Gi and No-Gi Jiu-Jitsu. Caio Terra was the 2008 Roosterweight World Champion and the 2009 Runner-Up. He is also the current Light-Featherweight No-Gi World Champion.

GMA Teams in AZ Prepare for the Tournament Season

GMA Schools, Ruffhouse JJ, Gracie Barra Phoenix, Team Beauregard, and Tucson BJJ are preparing their students to compete in the 5th AZ Int’l Open of BJJ on March 13-14, 2010 in Mesa, AZ. With everyone training hard to sharpen their techniques and competitive edge, the 5th AZ Int’l Open will prove to be the perfect tournament warm-up for the 2010 Pan Jiu-Jitsu Championship. Headed by the IBJJF, the Pan-Ams is the 2nd largest and one of the most prestigious Jiu-Jitsu tournaments in the World.

GMA Member, Gustavo Dantas, is preparing a select group of his students to compete at the Abu Dhabi Pro-Cup Trials in Santa Cruz, CA on January 24, 2010. Representing their school is Black Belt Steve Rosenberg, who holds many national and international titles and seeks to claim his first victory since receiving his Black Belt, Blue Belt Issa Able, who has claimed Champion titles in his last 4 tournaments, one of which being the World No-Gi Champion, and Blue Belt Kristina Barlaan, who has proven to be a tough competitor winning titles at not only her own weight, but in the absolutes as well. Winners of the Trials will receive an all expenses paid trip to Abu Dhabi to compete for large cash prizes.

Team Megaton Goes to Portugal

GMA Member, Megaton Dias and daughter, Mackenzie Dern, will leave for Portugal to compete in the 2010 European Open BJJ Championship on January 28-31, 2010. Megaton placed 2nd in the Adult, Black Belt, Featherweight Division in the 2009 Championship and hopes to claim the Champion title in 2010. This will be Mackenzie’s first try at the European Championship, but as the 2009 World Jiu-Jitsu Champion (Gi and No-Gi) in the Female, Adult, Blue Belt, Featherweight Division and at only age 16,
Mackenzie is likely to draw some imressive results.
