Schools
All schools affiliated with the AZSBJJF need to operate under a certified team, with their lead instructor being promoted by a recognized Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt. We do not support unrecognized or self-promoted individuals in order to maintain our high standards within the Jiu-Jitsu practice. The school directory is also a way to say thank you to the schools that consistently support the AZSBJJF and GDJJ Events.
How do I get my school listed at the school directory?
AZSBJJF has new protocols with its associated schools. Starting on February 14th, 2012, if your school wishes to be listed on the AZSBJJF official website, an annual $49.99 donation towards the non-profit organization, Live Jiu-Jitsu will be required. Your donation will be tax deductible and 100% of the proceeds will go directly to Live Jiu-Jitsu.
Live Jiu-Jitsu is a NPO who focuses on raising funds to support Jiu-Jitsu programs for the youth and young adults living in low-income and gang populated areas in Brazil known as “favelas”. It is within Live Jiu-Jitsu’s objective to be able to sponsor 2-3 athletes from 10 to 15 years old, every year to compete at the IBJJF Pan Kids or other tournaments in the U.S. Many of those living in these favelas will never get the chance to leave their cities, let alone the country, in order to travel or compete. Opportunities like the ones we would like to provide are essential in giving these young people hope and inspiration to lead a life of purpose.
LJJ has been able to buy new mats for social projects, like the “Morro Azul”, and buy new uniforms to students from projects “Santo Amaro” and “Morro Azul”.
Our school directory editor is Benino Gurrola and you can get in contact with him at benino@azsbjjf.com to receive the Live Jiu-Jitsu invoice of $49.99. Your school will receive a Certificate of Appreciation from Live Jiu-Jitsu, an AZSBJJF Certificate of Association, and the AZSBJJF Official School Seal to display on your website.
