Twenty years and two generations of hard work, dedication, and family pride began in 1990 when Roger McConnell opened Midwestern Meats in a rented space in Mesa, Arizona. Offering only the best quality of corn-fed Iowa beef and personal customer service, the little meat shop soon gained popularity and expanded to include a scratch bakery and comfort-food style restaurant. By 1996, the company outgrew its rented space, building its own 11,000 square-foot location. In 1999, Roger handed the reins of Midwestern Meats to his son, Rod McConnell, who became Vice President and General Manager. An avid sports fan, Rod expanded the business by starting an athletic division in 2008, Midwestern Fitness, offering portioned-control meals to fitness, bodybuilding and sports athletes. Not one to rest on his laurels, Rod continued his expansion but this time on the internet. In 2009, Megameatstore.com was launched with little fanfare and promotions. However, customer loyalty and word-of-mouth created just enough buzz that soon megameatstore.com was slowly but surely getting hits and orders online.

On May 22nd, head instructor of Rey Diogo/De Brazil, Martin Escobar, promoted his first 2 black belts. Fernando Pena has been training with Martin for 13 years, and Roland Gutierrez for 10 years. Starting at the worlds 2010, at any IBJJF event. It is mandatory for all the black belts to carry their federation membership id cards. Its required to present the I.D card to the event official prior to the match.

IBJJF Membership ids and affiliated federation ids accepted for this event; IBJJF (for non US, Brazil, Japan and Portugal residents the IBJJF id is applicable), USBJJF for US residents, CBJJ for Brazil Residents, Japan federation for Japan residents, Portugal federation for Portugal residents.For the World Jiu-Jitsu Championship 2010, IBJJF will release complimentary membership ids for the black belts registered in the world jiu-jitsu championship 2010. This includes the coaches with athletes registered in the event.

WORLDS JIU-JITSU CHAMPIONSHIP 2010 SUNDAY EVENT

IBJJF will issue passes to the coaches of the athletes qualified for Sunday event (June 6th).

Qualified coaches with passes will be able to follow their athletes inside the competition area. The coach will be assigned to the designated ring area.

Coaches with passes must leave the competition area after their athletes matches is done.
All qualified coaches will be subjected to the “Code of conduct for coaches”.

COACH CONDUCT CODE
To qualify as coach and apply for the pass, you must have a black belt rank and have valid 2010 membership Id – IBJJF, USBJJF, CBJJ, Japan or Portugal.
