Team USA in Ukraine
Three AZ Competitors had a great performance in Ukraine last weekend. Clayton, Connor and Mika Carpenter competed in both Pankration and Submission Wrestling Divisions. Here is the message sent from their father, Clay Carpenter:
Hi Gustavo,
We hate to miss the kids cup but we will see you at the next event. The USA kids tore it up in Kharkov taking the 3rd place team trophy in both Submission Grappling and Pankration behind Russia and Ukraine. Clayton & Aaron Pico took gold in both divisions, Mika took gold in submission grappling and silver in Pankration, Connor took bronze in submission grappling. We had an incredible time and made a lot of friends from Poland, Ukraine, Dagestan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Georgia. The American kids BJJ & wrestling were good enough to prevail over the great Greco and Sambo games that the eastern European kids had.

The Carpenters train at the Lion’s Den under Carlos Farias and have been consistently giving outstanding performances when competing at both AZSBJJF and out-of-state tournaments. Congratulations to these young fighters for representing Arizona across the Nation and around the World!
